Our shop in Sylvania, Ohio offers natural therapies that promote healing and wellness.
These natural therapies may help reduce inflammation and restore the flow of blood, fluids and energy in your body. Putting your body back in its natural state of balance may help reduce pain and lead to an overall improvement in body function. This may be especially helpful for managing stress or chronic conditions.
Some therapies, such as acupuncture and auricular therapy, can release endorphins or “feel good” hormones within the body that may help to reduce stress and relax your body.
All of our natural therapies are performed by a practitioner who is licensed, certified and extensively trained to bring you these therapies in a clean and modern environment.

Acupuncture

Recurring visits, 60 minutes, $90
During your acupuncture visit, we insert and remove specialized, sterile needs (about the width of a hair) to specific areas of the body. The type of therapy determines the number of needles and their placement.
Acupuncture is commonly used for:

Auricular Therapy
30 minutes, $35
We stimulate pressure points by inserting and removing specialized sterile needles (about the width of a hair) or by applying seeds onto the surface of the ear. These seeds can be left on the surface of the ear for several days to maintain stimulation of the pressure points. Auricular therapy may be done on its own or in conjunction with acupuncture.
Auricular therapy is commonly used for:
- Chemotherapy support.
- Pain management.
- Smoking cessation.
- Stress/anxiety support.

Cupping
30 minutes, $55
For cupping, we apply glass cups to the skin to increase local circulation and energy flow. The level of suction can be adjusted to your comfort level. Although it does leave marks on the skin for a few days, they are not bruises and the skin is not damaged.
Cupping is commonly used for:
- Asthma.
- Menstrual cramps.
- Muscle tension.
- Pain.
- Scar therapy.

Herbal Therapy Consultation
First visit, 30 minutes, $60
Recurring visits, 30 minutes, $45
This one-on-one session with our natural wellness practitioner leads to personalized recommendations for herbal supplements. We offer herbs not typically found in health food stores, including a blend of herbs that work together as an herbal formula. We discuss your allergies, current medications, health conditions, and blood work before marking our recommendations so that we can best meet your unique needs.

Moxibustion
30 minutes, $60
We use an herbal heat source on one or more acupuncture points. The intention is to warm and invigorate circulation and energy flow locally and throughout the body. It does not touch the skin or cause burns.
Moxibustion is commonly used for:
- Arthritis/chronic pain, particularly for pain that is specific to one part of the body, such as knee pain or pain in the hands.
- Digestive issues.
- Respiratory issues.
- Women’s health.

Our Natural Wellness Practitioner

Licensed Acupuncturist
Kylie A. Study spent several years in scientific research at the University of Toledo (Health Science Campus) where she obtained her master’s degree in Biomedical Science (M.Sc.). Wanting to be more involved in patient care, she pursued training in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science in Chicago, Illinois. There she completed a master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) and became a nationally certified Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (Dipl.OM).
After extensive training in Chicago, Kylie moved to Northwest Ohio and practiced acupuncture in a medical office providing supportive therapies to cancer patients. She then transitioned her practice over to a medical wellness spa working alongside other complementary and alternative medicine providers. Most recently, Kylie worked for five years in the integrative medicine department at Beaumont. She joined ProMedica Natural Wellness Shop in 2020.
